The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021) for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India will be held today, September 12. After a long delay due to the second wave of Covid-19 and amid a second postponement campaign, NEET-UG will finally take place in 202 Test cities today from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the examination, has received approval from the Supreme Court of India to examine as per the schedule.
The court rejected the application filed by some students saying that NEET conflicts with other exams.
“More than 16 lakh students take NEET. It cannot be avoided on the plea of some students,” the apex court said in the hearing.
The NTA has taken precautions for the safe conduct of examinations between the Covid-19. NEET Admit Card contains COVID related guidelines that students need to follow and other safety measures introduced by the agency.
Before entering the examination hall, students will be given an N95 mask and bring a bottle of hand sanitiser.
Agency takes a mandatory frisking and dress code that no student adopts any unfair means (UFM) to crack in highly competitive exams.
Reports of alleged NEET paper leaks have surfaced on social media, leading to several campaigns a day before the entrance exam.
However, neither National Testing Agency nor the Ministry of Education has yet commented on the matter.
