Due to this horrific terrorist attack, many innocent people had to lose their lives, and America suffered great economic loss. People have been facing the horror of this tragedy for a long time.
While the firefighters who put their lives in this attack are battling serious diseases.
So far, 250 firefighters have lost their lives due to diseases related to this attack. Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said in a recent statement that on September 11, 2001, alone, we lost 343 firefighters.
At the same time, 250 members have left us due to diseases related to it. From 2002 to 2010, 52 firefighters lost their lives due to accident-related illness, and from 2011 to 2015, 78 firefighters lost their lives.
The terrorist organization, Al-Qaeda hijacked four American planes, crashed two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the third to the Pentagon outside Washington DC and the fourth to Pennsylvania fields.
Thousands lost their lives
More than three thousand people lost their lives in the 9/11 clash. About 400 police and fire brigade personnel were also involved.
The dead included 372 people from around the world, including plane hijackers and citizens of 77 countries.
The attacks killed about 3,000 civilians and 19 kidnappers. As of June 2009, 836 emergency workers, including firefighters and police personnel, had been killed, according to the New York State Department of Health.
Of the 2,752 victims killed in the attack on the World Trade Center, 343 were firefighters, and 60 were New York City and Port Authority police officers.
The attack on the Pentagon killed 184 people. The dead included a large number of civilians, including citizens of 70 countries.
